I recently bought a 01 Audi a4 1.8T, 5 speed with 96k. bought from used car dealer (mistake) first week had to take to audi dealer to do synthetic oil change and they found a list of concerns. Put in a new clutch system, valve cover gasket, timing belt and motor mount. Now im hearing a ticking noise from engine area but cant determine where its comming from. When pushing the clutch in it gets louder and faster. Funny thing is this only happens on way home from work when its hot outside. I can drive to work in morning with ac on or off and no problems but on way home this sound starts even if ac is not on. I took to meachanic who did parts and he didnt really know. said give it a couple weeks for parts to wear in and hopefully solve problem and it hasnt. wanted to see any ideas before i take to audi dealer and get another big estimate. Car has been well taken care of came with service records since purchased. I just wanna know if its worth putting any more money in it. All temp gages seem ok and no service light
