Im looking into buying this car at a Ford dealer wholesale lot. Hate to see it go to auction its so damn nice. But it has a few minor (i think. Thats why im asking advice) problems to take car of. I searched and dug thru the FAQ section. Either im dumb or its not there (sorry if it is)

First problem is the car will not reach operating temp. Sitting idle it barely reaches 1/4 and going down the road it sits at or just above the first mark. According to my scan tool its at around 135 at idle. Heater is barely warm when moving. Im thinking it is the thermostat stuck open. My friend had a V6 A4 with the same problem but we never diagnosed it on his.

Second is the coolant looks milky. Now, i think it is just mixed prestone and G12 because it isnt "gunky" like when a headgasket blows. Does not smell or feel oily and the crankcase is clean and clear oil. Think just flushing it and filling with fresh coolant will fix it (not looking for garantees but i want some advice from experience with these cars)



Now about the car. Dealer wants 4000 and wont budge off of it(talked them down from 5500). Car is a 2 owner car. no rust, no torn seats, not even a door ding. Second owner bought it as a certified pre-owned Audi and drove it till now at 123,000 miles. Timing belt was done at 71,000 so its about due. Think its worth it? Love the car but i dont want to buy a headache. I want a nice car so i can put my 12' speed3 in the garage this winter.
