I have a 2000 s4 with the auto/tiptronic transmission.

After about 15k in recent work, including both turbos, cam seals, motor mounts, timing belt, water pump, exhaust temp sensors, and more I'm sure I'm forgetting, the car came back from the last mechanic with transmission problems. Smell of burning and starting to slip worse and worse.

A new tranny from the Audi dealer isn't in the financial cards so to speak, and obviously there aren't too many s4's laying around here in northern Canada.

My question is.... Will a tranny from any other car that had the 2.7t fit my car or were they all different?

And this might be a real dumb question, but is it possible to swap a 6 speed into it? Would be ideal for me, but, ya I think I know the answer but you never know right? Thx
