Default 2002 A6 3.0L interference engine

Greetings and thanks for reading my posting. My 2002 Audi A5 3.0L front drive car is dead. First I got code P0300 followed by P0305. It ran rough but I could drive it. Then after a few miles it just rolled to a stop. Would not start.

Mechanic analysis is that the timing belt is really warn and probably skipped a tooth or more. The belt is not broken (yet). New timing belt is expensive from private German car repair shop.

Not knowing the condition of the engine internals I plan to scrap the car but before I do can someone tell me. Is this interference engine? If so, what is the likelihood that the valves are damaged from valve timing being wacked out?

It is a shame too because I just put in two new catalytic converters, a battery, and two new drive axles. Good tires and 5 (not 4) matching alloy wheels. Where might I post this vehicle in non-running condition so I can recover at least some $$$. (car cheap)

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Yes, they are interference engines... There is a Classifieds section on this board. You can post it there.
