2002 audi tt 1.8....????

Default 2002 audi tt 1.8....????

Temp GAUGE needle is PINNED when driving for 5 minutes..?? The TOP HOSE is HOT...The bottom hose is COLD.....The RAD is Cold..The reservior is HOT...Both HEATER HOSES are cool...[ no heat in car]..and i just changed the T-STAT and its still the same..?? I checked the motor with a HEAT LASER GUN and it wasnt crazy hot...So..?? Does the water pump ..JUST GO without a SOUND..?? Squeal..?? Leak..?? Somethin..?? Is there a BIG *** air bubble in the block..What..?? this is drivin me CRAZY..!! thanks in advance...

as i started to read your thread the first thing i thought of was water pump.. and they do go with no noise.. lol.. plastic impeller comes loose or the fins just fall off.. seent it a thousand times my brother.. you should be able to take the thermostat housing off and touch/move the water pump impeller with your finger..if its bad.. at least you can check it this way..

and also..?? is there any Special Tools..?? Tricks..?? any PICS of the TASK at hand..?? I dread doin this but..I gots tuh do, What I GOTS tuh do..!!

Its an audi so there are special tools involved. If your creative you can make other tools do the job. The Bentley Service DVD rom is definitely a good thing to have especially when you are working on sensitive systems like engine timing. I have the Benley DVD rom I'd be happy to e-mail you the file if its possible, I'm not sure never tried.

um... what did you have apart...?

i'd try bleeding the coolant system before trying to take anything apart
