Default 2005 A8 Key Fob Programming

I recently bought an 05 A8 with one fob, no valet keys or anything. I bought got a blank fob on ebay, it has the same FCC ID as the fob that came with the car. I had it cut at the dealer and it now fits into the ignition... but I need to program it. Is this possible without a valet key? I have read multiple "procesures" for programming but none of them seem to work and I know I must be missing something.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Your car has an immobilizer and there is a chip in the key that the car needs to recognize or it will not allow you to start it. You need to see AUDI to have it programmed. I did read a way you can do it yourself but Audi would have to program a password into the ecm for you so what's the difference just let them do it. Oh and be prepared for " this key won't work you need a new one 270.00 with programming but we'll do five keys" That's the news I got.

They are cool keys but really they suck!
