2006 Audi A6 brake and rotor replacement
Hey guys, new to the forum. Searched thru and didn't see any specifics on this, or at least the problem I'm running into so I'm posting to see if anyone else had this issue.
I was attempting to replace the rotors on my 2006 Audi A6 Quattro, and when I got to the point to remove the brake caliper I couldn't get it off the rotor. I removed both 7MM bolts, following this general guide

When I tried to pull off the brake caliper, it kept banging into the caliper carrier like there was no way to pull it off.
Do I have to just force it off? Or is there a trick to getting this off? In the post above, he says he had to use a flat head screw driver to help pry it off. I've just never had any issues removing a brake caliper before, it normally just comes right off after you remove those bolts.
Any help is appreciated!

Sometimes if you let brake pads go unchanged for too long they do need to be forced off because of the force that the calliper piston pushes on the rotor. The screwdriver in between the top of the rotor and the calliper carrier, "shoe", and pry upward. or I usually keep my handy rubber mallet around and bang on the shoe itself until it breaks free. I'm very weary of puncturing the calliper boot with the screwdriver so i use the mallet.
