Default 2010 A4 AC water drip after the Engine turned off

Hi All,

My wife bought a new 2010 A4 last may.. we have now 1800 miles on it.

She noticed since day one that when she turned off the car she hears a sound similar to water dripping into a hot surface. The Dealer told her that this is normal and it is from the AC!!!!! and it will go after a while..

I drove the car last week and i heard the sound.. then i took it to the dealer and they said it is normal all Audis do the same..

I am not sure what to do next.. yes this is our first Audi and i am not sure if this is normal? I never experienced this with my current M3 or any Bimmer i had before.

We all know that water and hot metal will cause rust!!!

What do you think guys?

Thanks in advance..

It's probably just the condensation from the a/c system dripping onto a hot pipe. Maybe you can catch some under the car and make sure it's not coolant. It's most likely a/c runoff though.

It is just A/C condensate dripping onto the exhaust shield. My understanding is this is on purpose by design, so it doesn't leave a pool of water on your garage floor. Don't worry about rust, the shields and exhaust are stainless. The Audi engineers wouldn't have done it this way if they weren't sure no problems would occur.
