2012 Audi Q7 S-Line
Hello everyone!
I've been trying to figure out what is the biggest rotor size that I'm able to put on my car without replacing the calipers?? My car needs new brakes and rotors but the calipers have been a none issue, so without dropping a ton of cash to do it all right away I was hoping to be able to do it without the caliper upgrade and save that for a later date.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Changing the rotor size and not using the appropriate calipers is not a good idea at all. The calipers are designed to keep the pads properly aligned on appropriately sized rotor. Since there isn't a lot of space between the outer edge of the rotor and the caliper anyway, a larger rotor just isn't going to physically fit. Going with thicker rotors also encounters the same physical fit issues. Besides even if you could get a larger (a couple of mm's) rotor on it, the pad contact area is still going to be the same. Other than just a little more mass to help dissipate heat, any gains will be very minute.
