2014 A6 Stuttering Transmission
Looking for some insights!
Leased a new 2014 A6 3.0T Quattro Prestige in Dec 2013, now with ~4500miles.
Since delivery and occurring nearly daily, the transmission ‘stutters’ upon acceleration either from a full stop or from <~15mph. This occurs whether the engine is cool or has been running. It will occur whether smoothly depressing the accelerator or if holding it steady during acceleration. If one were to view the acceleration curve graphically, the rising curve would occasionally flatten out or drop slightly for fractions of a second or a second, then even spike upwards at times. A few times, the spike occurred unexpectedly and even jerked the vehicle forward dramatically despite even pressure on the accelerator.
I’ve tried adjusting the acceleration profile (comfort/sport/individual, etc), and it does seem a bit worse with sport settings, but it’s not gone away with any other adjustments. Please don’t suggest paddle-shifting: a luxury sedan shouldn’t need paddle-shifting to solve this issue IMO.
I’ve seen some posts attributing this phenomena to a cold engine on older Audi’s, but that’s not the case here. The vehicle is due for its first service soon, and I’d like to be equipped with some clues beforehand.
Thanks in advance!
