I drove a brand new 2014 TT off the lot with a blown transmission. Initially there was a scraping sound going into 5th gear (S-tronic) which I imagined at first was the spoiler going up. The noise didn't go away and I couldn't find an explanation so I took it to the dealer. The transmission was replaced with less than 2,000 miles on the car. I'm thankful for the new transmission but not so happy that my new car has had the front sub frame removed and the new transmission replaced outside of the factory on a car that I paid the 'new car' price for. Audi was not willing to extend my warranty or to compensate me for the lowered resale value when the CarFax indicates that the transmission was replaced. Of course when I began to research the issue, I found the recently settled suit regarding failed transmissions. It appears that the problem has continued and the suit should not be limited to 2002-2006 Audis it addressed. The purpose of my post is to try to find out how many others have had transmissions fail in newer cars and to determine if there shouldn't be more legal action taken to address the ongoing issue.
