I own a 1986 audi 5000 cd turbo and I am having some slight problems please help.

1ash lights often cut out while driving and they turn on later when the car is hot(warm).

2: There is a knocking sound coming from under the hood people say its the lifters.?

3:Killing batteries like its running off a 9volt. Lately Its been killing batterys maddly. I went through 2 in the last 2 weeks and its not cool hah.

4: Wants to stall.- When i come to a complete stop it chugs and wants to stall so i either have to ride the brake and the gas or put it in neutral untill green light then Rev the RPM,s and toss it in drive. ( and if it doesstalls it is very hard to get started and today it killed the battery trying to start it. And also 2 years we had a new tranni installed because the old one blew.

Any information would help please. Thanks

for #1 some loose wires....do they work when its cold out?

for #2 i belive lifters make a ticking sound.....oil level ok?....also check spark plugs maybe bad detonation

for #3 the only thing i can think of why your car is munchingon batteries is a bad alternator

#4 had this prob and thought i got it fixed (O2 sensor)but it came back dosent stall any more butsome timesat lights/stop signs the tack dives to 200 rpm and then goes back to normal...verry noticable a night when my headlights dim and go back to normal

i just puchesed a vag http://www.ross-tech.com for my car to get all my falts pinpointed.....sorry to say but you cant get this for your car
