well ever since i replaced the odo gear, it along with my trip computer (mpg and average mph) intermittently don't work. I just finished taking apart the entire cluster, resoldered/greased/etc anything that looked like it needed it. i found no cold solder joints or any reason for increased resistance. i really don't want to have to come up with a new IC, and this honestly doesnt make since to me. the same signal drives the odo and speedo, but why would the odo not work?

it will intermittently start working, and when it does it is accurate but short lived.


car is 875kt cs, no codes, runs great

 

got it fixed, had to soak all the connecters and speedo innards with contact cleaner...
