I posted this question in the A4 section but figured more exposure here. Ok the low oil light came on and the car killed while driving. Pulled over and waited a few minutes and it started and drove another 10 miles. The oil is not low! My main question is will the low oil sensor cause the car to die out? The car will start and idles down slowly until it dies out. Idle control valve? HELP!!!!

 

my mates oil light comes on when reved hard but it is the oil sensor his motor dosnt cut out,

Well the timing belt broke!!!! OUCH. Anyone want to buy a non running A4? I'm sure these are interference motors right?

 

owwwwww that's bad it is an interference engine but I doubt you stuffed more than 4 valves, first thing a garage does is fit a new belt because you just might be lucky " I have seen this a few times ", it not such a big deal rebuilding the top end just fiddly and lots to remove but I wouldn't condemn the engine for that
