Default '97 Audi A4 Ignition Problem?

Hello everybody,

Here is my new problem. First off, the key is a bit rough getting it into the ignition. I start the car and my headlights, turn signals and wipers do not work. Engines running, car drives. I have to turn the key back very slightly, while the car is running, to get them to come on. It's as if the key was turned too far to begin with.

Now, when I go to turn the car off, I can't get the key to go back far enough to properly turn the car off. I am, in fact, able to get the key out after wiggling it a few times. But the radio stays on. It's as if the key is supposed to go back more before I pull it out. Also when I lock the doors the alarm doesn't beep (activate) like it normally does.

Im guessing its the ignition switch? If anyone could give me some insight I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

-Joe

There is a recall for your ignition switch, make sure it hasn't been done by calling the dealer with your VIN number.
