Don't know what it is but I recently had a recall replacement in march on one of the lower arms on my Audi and since then this noise is becoming louder and louder? When I turn the wheel slowly (left or right) it gets very loud. Also when I'm moving slowly and go over any bumps I hear it pretty badly.

Any Ideas? I'm guessing its a suspension thing but want to know if anyone else has had similar?

Can you describe the noise a little bit more than that? Thumping, whining, grinding, squeaking?

 

Its like a creaky door in a haunted movie but with more vibration .

 

Mine makes the same noise. The dealer told me it was ffrom the lower control arm. They didnt replace it since my car hadnt been serviced at the dealer every 5000 miles. Id take it back to them and let them fix it right.

 

Will do, I tried a little WD40 on the upper control arms but it made no difference. I'll call Audi and see whats up.

 

Call audi of america there are open recalls on A6 lower control arms. I thin MY 1999 and up. The dealer must inspect and if need replace free of charge.

 

I have a 2002 allroad with 23K on it, CPO, etc...I have a loud, rather annoying clunk in the left front end, turning left, speed bumps, and dips...Had it in to the dealer, they couldn't nail down what i was describing, took service rep for ride, and of course could not get it to clunk...the noise has become more frequent now. I want to bring it back in with some intelligence, any suggestions are appreciated!
