I have a 98 Audi A4 Quattro with the 2.8L. I am having a hard time troubleshooting the outside temperature reading. I replaced the sensor originally because it looked a bit questionable when the dash display started displaying -49 all the time. I can start it up for the first time of the day and it will ready normally for about a minute, then it quickly drops down to -49. I have cleaned the contacts where the sensor plugs into the underhood relay, but nothing. I tore apart the dash to check the connections inside the cab, but was overwhelmed at the amount of connections. I would like to try and just jumper from the sensor to the connector at the a/c control module to eliminate the remaining wiring, but can't seem to get the control panel out without removing the trim....which I can't seem to pull. The tech manual I has directions for the old analog system, but my whole setup is digital. Any ideas on where else to look or go about checking this thing?
