A4 Avant - Hatch wont open
So, some douche broke my back window a few weeks ago and before getting it replaced I tried to clean out the hatch the best I could - but of course there was a few peices of glass rattling around once the glass guy got done doing his thing. Needless to say it's annoying and I planned on taking the panels off the hatch to clean it out with a vaccume. However, I just noticed today that the hatch wont open. It acting as though it is locked (the motor doesnt respond when you pull the handle). You can hear the unlock motor clicking inside the hatch but it probably has a bit of glass stuck in the mechanism.
It seems impossible to get the hatch panels off without opening it so here is my question. How do i get the hatch open from the inside if it thinks its locked? Is there a release of some kind? Is there a way to get a flat head screwdriver into the latch catch and open it? Anyone have any experience with this kind of thing? It's a 1998 A4 Avant 2.8 Quattro.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob
