Default A4 stereo question

I have a 2002 A4 and I like the stereo (and the car) with one exception: the stereo is not nearly loud enough, especially when playing CDs. (For some reason it's a tad louder on the radio setting.) So my question is -- what can I do about that? As Spinal Tap might say, I like my stereo to go to 31 (as opposed to just 30). Is there a pre-amp anyone here recommends?

My other concern is that I don't want to do too much out of the ordinary to the car, in case I upgrade to a newer model in the next couple of years -- wouldn't want to detract from the car's value by customizing it too radically. Just wondered if there was an easy fix.

I like my car stereo mind blisteringly loud -- but clear too.

thanks in advance for any and all input.

RJ

I dont think I do -- there's no Bose logo to be seen. I think it's the standard stereo package.
