A6 timing chain tensioners
Attempted to reseal timing chain tensioners on a 2.8 30 valve. Was told a process that avoided removing the cams from the heads. After all work was performed,New belt and all ness parts replaced as well. Spun engine by hand at least 10 times through TDC. rechecked all marks,at this point all was well.Attempted to start,Car fired but ran very rough for short period of time.10 sec. Shut down and again rechecked all marks very concerned of a jump. All lined up as they should. performed compression test at this time. 50 psi in all cylinders of right head, Didnt even bother with left side. If belt marks still line up correctly and yes I did use all of the locks for cams and crank, what would cause the cams to jump. Is there a special procedure for pressurizing the chain tensioners,I dont want to have this happen again after valve replacement.
