Hi,

I have an A3 1.6 (`99 model) and having problems with the alarm.

It has recently just started going off without warning and at completely random intervals. Can anyone help?!!

were your windows down when it went off? if so, maybe it is the interior motion detector. other than that i can't think of anything. maybe it is a short circuit problem??

 

The horn has it's own battery that losses it's charge when this happens it cuases the alarm to sound. It is mounted in the passenger rear wing to get to it you need to take the side pannel out and the base speaker. Best to confirm this first with diagnostics first

 

did you resolve this and would the horn battery being flat effect teh LED on the doors ?
