Ok, my CEL has been on for a little while now and I have just come to deal with it. The car has ran fine since I bought it about a year ago. I have recently noticed that I can hear a rattle that sounds like it's coming from the exhaust. This morning when I went to hit the gas, the car would chug for a couple seconds and then it would take off. Any ideas before I take it to get it looked at? I don't have access to a VAG.

 

it could be the catalyst breaking down give it a knock to hear if there is anything lose in there, without any test for codes its just a guess

 

That's what I was thinking it was. The same thing happened to one of my other cars and that's what it was. Any ideas of what the cost would be on that?
