i just bought a 01' s4 with 64k miles, for about $13k. its great looking and runs fast! sharp looking all around. nothing wrong.

Any ideas on first mods and what do ya think about the purchase?

 

I think if all is well thats a good price... low miles. First of all i think you should start by getting a tune and upgrading your diverter valves.... try some of these sites.. www.awetuning.com www.ecstuning.com.. after chip and diverter valves... look into sway bars and exhaust.

Sound good, read the FAQ, getting the ECU flashed is the best BFTB.

CHIP! Biggest bang for the buck and a pretty big noticeable increase

 

tip or 6 speed ? and yes chip like everyone else said and if you can.......i would do piggie pipes to help the turbos breath with the new ecu flash

 

60k miles? first things first check your timing belt, figured 2k woulda chimed in on that one, but youll most likley be doing that shortly. $1k right there give or take where u get it done.
But other wise i would go exhaust then chip. let it breathe well before u force all that power through it. but thats just my $0.02

 

if you chip it, make sure you get new diverter valves from awe or apr or wherever. if you don't, the liklihood of you blowing your throttle body boot will increase dramatically.
