Thumbs down Anybody have luck getting a loaner under 25 years old?

Hello everyone,

I own a 2007 A4 that is suffering from the dreaded "excess oil consumption" issue. I have used a quart in about 600 miles. The dealer has agreed to take the car in (tomorrow) but will not give me a loaner because I'm 22 (you apparently need to be 25).

I don't have another car that I can use while they work on my car. I need to get to work every weekday and have no public transportation in the area.

Has anybody had any luck getting a loaner if they are under 25? I am in a suburb or Boston, so any of the dealerships around Boston would be fine.

Thanks,
Brian

(P.S. - As a rant: I can finance an Audi worth $36K, but can't get a loaner? WTF?)

You may end up having to rent a car unfortunately - a lot of places won't loan a car out to anyone under 25 because of the insurance costs (it's lowest at 25 or older). Best bet probably is to see if a buddy has a second car not being used right now and wouldn't mind you using it while your car is in the shop.
