Audi A4 03 Glove Box Problems
Hi All,
Be grateful if someone can help! My glove box was locked shut as the latch has broken on the little lever to release it. Thanks to other posts on audiforums i managed to get the glove box open (remove side panel and push through small square hole).
However, i now want to fix the problem but have no idea how to get my glove box door off, or get into it to expose the broken latch.
Could someone give me a blow by blow of how to get inside?
Thanks in advance!

You have to remove the entire glove box first, take out the bolts under the box, open the door and take out all the bolts on the top inside the box, lastly you will see two bolts in the back of the inside of the glove box. After all of these are out, wiggle the box until it falls down. Once its out you can see where the pins are thats holding the door to the box. You need to bang out the pins with some pliers and a hammer.

Thats great thanks i now have the door off!
Do you know how to get inside the door to expose the latch? I can see its two bits of plastic but they are quite firmly attached and i dont want to snap anything getting them apart! Any clues as to how to do this easily?

You mean to get the key cylinder and handle out? Look at the side you will find a super small torx bolt, take that out. Now you need to pry the handle out of the door, pry on the oposite side of which you open it, just take your time and wiggle it out. Whatever you do don't pull up on the handle the same way you would open the door! That can break the handle off. Once its popped out it snaps back into the new door.
If you ever want to change the key cylinder in the future here is another tip, the pins on the inside of the lock will fall out when you break it out of the handle, so keep the key in the lock when popping the key cylinder out of the handle.

I am having the same glove box problem and I am trying to fix it. I am stuck at banging out the pins with some pliers and a hammer. How in the heck did you guys do this? I have a very hard time getting both pins out. I am currently trying to bang them out with a hammer, but they're slowly wearing down instead (but do come out VERY SLOWLY). I tried WD40, but this doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Am I missing something here? I want to fix my glove box, since I refuse to pay almost $500 for a new one. Thanks!
