Audi a4 hesitation!!..hellllp!!!
I have a 1998 audi a4 1.8se non turbo....i have a slight hesitation problem more when trying to build up speed quickly or pulling out of busy junctions etc...if i try pull off fast it hesitates like mad then all of a sudden kicks in and once past 2000rpm its fine ..d roads and motorways cruising its fine..had a few suggestions on tps..any ideas ive took the air flow sensor off and tried cleaning that with proper electrical contact spray as i know how sensitive they are so any help would be great....
hi ive actually just bought some plugs and a fuel filter going change them 1st see what happens...i have no eml light on so not sure if i get a diagnostic check it will show any codes etc...?
so still have this problem been garage today they havent any idea no codes no eml light changed plugs to no avail...lot of forums pointing to coil pack ??...ive noticed the odd time the car takes a couple of times to start is this connected?..the hesitation is always around 1500-2500rpm??
Hi Guys,
Just started looking for a solution to the same bag of troubles in my A4 2004 Sline 1.8T
#1 Hesitation - I had it at low revs when taking off and also at low revs in traffic.. Plugs? I was running 95 octane fuel and have now been running a higher 98 octane and the hisitation has gone away. Its on the end of the second tank of 98 and so far it looks to have solved the issue.
#2 Starting Issue - Only every now and then it would crank but not start. This would happen after if has been driven and then you stop for a short time before looking to start it again. A strong fuel smell was the first point noticed, it would cracnk for 10 secs and then start only to either splutter out and die or start to rev irraticly. Eventualy it settles down and runs as it should.
Any ideas on the second issue? I'm thinking that its something to do with fuel due to the smell of it and the reving (it could be burning the fuel away)??
Appreciate any feedback.
Thanks
