audi a6 transmission problem
i have a audi 2000 a6 1.8t station wich i bought with a broken engine.
ADR motor
some number on transmission 4D0 407 722E
i have recently bought a replacement engine from a 2001 a6 1.8t
AWT motor
some number on transmission : 4D0 407 722
my problem is that the transmission from the replacement engine is bigger than my original one and has an electronic caple at the back of it.
im not sure if what the difference is between those two and i cant find information on it anywhere.
some one here know anything of this ?

Some number on the transmission?
You really need to find another ADR engine since the ECU will be coded to run an ARD, not the AWT engine you got. Coupled with the fact that it's apparently physically different, you're pretty much going to have to return the AWT engine.
Gone are the old days of engines and transmissions being compatible with each other even within the same year model. Throw in the computer controlled aspect of it, and there's another level of incompatibility on top of the physical.
