Default Audi dealer integrity?

Hi guys, was wondering if you could give me some advice:

The other day the air intake pipe on my turbo popped off. At the time i thought that the turbo had blown up, but after speaking to a friend i understood it was simply the pipe had popped off.

Anyway, i took it to Audi who recommended that they replace 'both' the pipes. Firstly i thought there was only one air in take pipe and secondly, i thought they would just put a shiney jubilee clip on the end of the pipe to fix it on.

They're charging £170, but i was wondering if i should ask to see the old pipes and whether they needed replacing, or just fixing on? Are they making a meal of a simple job?

Help me please as i really dont trust audi prices!!!! Thanks guys.

If it came off at the quick connect fitting, most likely the tabs that the clip snap over have worn off over time. These connections are made to have some movement and do wear eventually. Don't take this the wrong way but, if the dealer didn't replace them both and the other one popped off it would be "their fault" for not finding and repairing something and would end up doing it for free. As I said, please don't take that personally!
