Batteries
So mine died, and since I'm in a gated parking garage, i had to bring a battery to my car. I invested in a Optima redtop, 34-78. Nice battery from what I hear. Anyway, those who recommended it failed to mention that you need a reverse top with audis. The terminal's are switched! The original Audi battery's terminals are opposite that from the Optima, so I had to get a little creative, cutting cables loose from their zipties, etc, in order to get it in there. And now i have to find a good way to secure it javascript:void(AddText('[&:]')) But hopefully it'll work. Anyone else try this? or have a similar experience?!
Thanks!!!

RE: Batteries
what did you pay for the redtop I saw one for 109, and since the regular batteries cost 75-80 dollars its not that much extra...
retops are deep cycle batteries meaning that you can run them stone dead recharge and go Regular batteries will only go stone dead maybe once or twice if there new and if there old there junk...
I had a new battery that blew a cell because my amp stayed on it was only 2 months old

RE: Batteries
My Optima Redtop was 120 - minus the 6 buck buyback for the old battery.
But --- it was a long process to get it in, as you've seen.
I recommend it, it seems good, and it was quite highly remcommended.
Have fun!

RE: Batteries
Probably an obvious question but ill ask anyway. I havent messed with my battery yet but probably will soon, 102kmi on original. I do know it is a post type - top mount. Couldnt you just turn the battery 180 deg and attach the cables?

RE: Batteries
I did. Sorry - i thought I had made it clear. I put the battery in backwards (or 180), but that puts the terminals at the back too. So in order to get enough slack in order to attach the cables, I had to cut the restraints. Fun times
And finally it's secured with a bungee cord!
