Where is the best place to get this kit from? Or should I say.. the best / cheapest place...

I know there are different kits with more or less items that may or may not be needed.... looking for opinions on what is nessessary...

I do want to do the serp belt, timing belt, tensioner, and anything that rotates (including water pump). Anything else I should be worried about?

 

you should google it, the companies that sell those kits cant be beaten on there price. i get cost on everything and only beat most timing belt kits by 5 bucks.

 

give keith a call at blau parts, or look them up online, www.blauparts.com , Very helpful people there. 350$ for everything you need, timing belt, tensioner, tensioner roller, idle roller, water pump, thermostat, serp belt, crank and cam seals, and 4 liters of coolant. The timing belt tensioner is not part of the standard included kit. The kit is 250$ and the tensioner is another 100$. This is the best part, for 35 bucks more you can rent the complete audi/vw tool kit for the job. Ecs tuning is about the same price, but they don't offer the tool rental and you only get half the coolant.
