Blah...bad noises after timing belt change..
Well here's the scoop folks,
1998 A4 1.8TQM
Recently changed my timing belt/water pump/crank pulley and threw on my forge007 and APR snub mount. I made sure i marked everything on the timing belt when I took it off, and even made sure that TDC on the cam was at the top of the piston stroke on the crank. But alas, i now have a sparatic ticking noise that is quite noticable whenever I raise my rpms. At idle it all seems good, just some very light lifter noise, but as soon as I give'r some gas the bad noises come. Would this be a sign that I have bent some valves? I surely hope not, but if so any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

you also might want to check back on what you did + the compression test

well apparently I have a slow power steering leak, and the sparatic ticking when raising the rpms was caused by my pump. top'd her up with fluid and she purrs like a kitten. still going to get a compression check just to make sure everything is ok regardless tho.

If you bent a valve you would be able to tell, the car would not be driveable. would run like a complete bag of sh*t. Have absolutly no power. Would be misfiring all over the place
