Default brake pads smell

hey everyone as some of you may know I did my brake pads the other day. I did it on the rear driver side tire and after driving it for about 10 mins that wheel will start smelling like burning brake pads I believe. Any ideas of what it is? Are they just getting broken in or is the rotor warped? I have heard that it could just be them breaking in and could take like 2 days.

the smell is definately normal for a few days after putting brake pads in. Brakes are not cured like they should be at the factory anymore, whenever we did brakes at the shop i was at for a while, we'd take the car out and get the brakes hot to the point they were just about smoking....

well the problem was that the brakes were partially engaged the entire time that piston had to be compressed again and it is fine now.
