Brake Residue left on Rims
I have seen this on most of my vehicles with disk breaks. A black residue from the brakes is left on the rims after driving. I was wondering if this is normal or a by product of cheap pads? Is there a specific pad I should be using to prevent this? I am hard on the brakes as I drive my Audi pretty hard, however, any insight that may help reduce the amount of residue would be appreciated.

it's just dust from the pads, all pads leave this (some more than others) - perfectly normal
if you clean the wheels regular then it should come off easily, left for a while it stains and takes some getting off

Wash the brake dust off at least once a week or it could "burn" itself right into the finish on the rims ... there's nothing uglier than a nice car like an Audi with caked on brake dust ...
