Default Bubble in rearview mirror

Hi - I have a 2001 S4 which is doing great, but a couple days ago I got in the car and noticed the rear view mirror almost looks like part of the lamination has melted away. (It's been extremely hot in LA and I noticed it right after the car had been parked outside in the sun.) There's a long clear bubble against a dimmer background - I can still see out of it but the image is blurred double around the edges of the bubble. Any idea what this might be or how to fix it?

Also, this is a minor quirk but whenever it's hot and there are more than 2 people in the car, the Air bag light goes on. I assume this is some sensor problem and not an issue with the air bags, but has anyone else had a similar problem.

Thanks!

Default RE: Bubble in rearview mirror

You need a new mirror, If you wait too long it will leak on the shifter **** and destroy that also.
