Default A/C Drain drain plugged?

Last Tuesday the right rear floor of my 2003 A6 3.0 flooded. The irony of it happening at the same time as the tragic failure of the levees in New Orleans wasn't lost on me as I trippled checked that all my windows and sunroof were secure. Surprisingly, immediately after me confirming the same to the dealer on the phone, they suspected that the A/C drains were plugged, and sure enough that was the final diagnoses. I read other posts that described the removal of seats and carpet to dry which at dealer hourly rates ads up to about 5 bills. Plus, I'm without my car for the long Labor Day weekend. Drag.

And no warranty coverage because it involved "outside factors". This is a car that goes from home garage to work garage. It's not sitting under a shedding pine tree or driving down dusty country roads.

Has anyone else had an argument with their dealer on this topic, and hopefully won the warranty battle. Seems to me if it's common enough for them to diagnose over the phone, and can put the car's electronics at that much risk, it should be covered, or checked at regular service, or involve a recall to solve the core problem.

Anyone else have experience or insights?

Should be covered by warranty. Speak to the service manager. If that fails, write to Audi of America
