I have a 2000 audi a4 Quattro 1.8T. Lately its been acting like it doesnt want to start. For the past day or so I have had no problems, until tonight. I went out to start it and nothing. The lights radio and everything else are working just fine. I got it "jumped" but that made no difference. It wont even turn over. What can I do? I had the timing belt replaced a year ago so I cant imagine that being the case.
Please Help

Starters bad, or the cable to the starter is corroded. Try having someone wack on the starter with a hammer while you crank it, if it starts turning over you need a new starter.

 

don't rule out the electrical portion of your ignition switch. I've had a million a4's in my shop with faulty ignition switches that will power up the electronics but won't start the car

 

Yeah. I checked it out yesterday and then a shop looked at it this morning. It's confirmed, starter is gone.
I could think of worst things so I'm kinda glad thats "all" is wrong.
