Okay, so it was a valve vacuum-tube T-connector...a $3.18 part. If the car had not been under CPO, the repair would have cost around $400 because of labor--the damned thing sits right between the heads, and the whole top of the engine had to come off.

I like CPO; how about you?

good to hear that it wasnt anything major. Good call getting a CPO. Yeah, Im also all for CPO. Repairing a car takes time, time is money and I'd rather be busy making money. My headlight and trunk lid had problems and since my car is CPO, I took it in, they diagnosed what the problems were, repaired it and I picked the car up in the afternoon. The labor costs for my repair would have been easily over $200. I just paid the $50 deductible and knocked two issues off right there. And I was able to go to work using Audi's rental car service (which i didnt have to pay for).

what i would like to know is how's the experience people have had with extended warranty (not from the factory or dealer).

thats an I4 recall... 90% sure.

and for future reference it will NOT void your CPO to wait to bring your car in if you call the dealer and have your concern documented w/ them.

and TiredOldMan... if your refering to an aftermarket warranty not Audi Assured or Audi Pure i'd also contact the dealer and talk to an advisor to find out which ones work well and which ones are a pain to deal w/ when shopping around. Some automatically aprrove almost any repairs. some have to send out an adjuster to look at a lightbulb which takes a few days.
