Default chip for CVT?

I have a B6 1.8T CVT and I wanna chip it- good or bad idea? I know the tranny is a little funky, so I'm wondering if there would be issues with adding HP and torque. Any recommendations for particular chips/mods? I'm in the Bay Area- so let me know of any good shops. Thanks.

I think there are chips out there for the CVT.
But I dont think the well known companys chip the CVT.
I know APR doesnt.

yes, giac has a cvt-specific chip with a lower torque rating than the standard chip (+40tq instead of +80). chipping your car with the regular chip would definitely be a bad idea, but with the cvt-friendly chip, you should be fine. you can find them at www.4induktion.com
