Default Cleaning the isv.

Hello.

I hope someone could tell me how exectly can i clean the isv, I heard that you wash it with some carbon remover- But i dont know what is carbon remover. Or better said i dont know how is called in my language. So some descripcion would be very nice. thanks.

did you mean ICV Idle Control Valve.

Idle stabilization valve. idle control valve is probably the same thing.

older audi vocab called it the ISV, when I cleaned it on my coupe quattro I followed this process off 20v.org.
[ol][*]THOROUGHLY spray carb cleaner into the two hose connections on the ISV and allow to soak inside the unit, then pour it out. Repeat this process several more times until the stuff you pour out looks clean. Better yet, fill a small container with carb cleaner and let the ISV soak in it for an hour or two, then spray it a few more times. When you think you've cleaned it enough, clean it some more! anyone have a picture of this "ICV". i have no idea where it is , id like to clean it out. thaNX

i dont think the 1.8t had an ISV or ICV. i now the 12v V6 did.
