clicking sound when pressing gas
I just got my 2002 a4 1.8t about a month ago and i started hearing noise under my steeringwheel. I checked all my relays and whenever i press on gas, my brake booster relay keeps on making clicking sound. I went to couple auto shops and they all have different stories. One body shop told me its the brake booster (there is liquid in the brake booster) and their charging me $300 for the part and $98/hr for 4hrs. Other body shop told me its probably the brake booster sensor or electronic problem. anyone had same problem?

RE: clicking sound when pressing gas
i've never even heard of anybody hearing of a problem like this. but, we got a couple-three genuine techs on the board, so maybe one of them will be able to help. A little patience, tho, they don't visit everyday...

RE: clicking sound when pressing gas
change the relay and see how it goes it sounds likesticky electrical points in the relay caused by spark when the points open and close for a long time ( wear and tare ) they burn out and fuse together

RE: clicking sound when pressing gas
The sound is just click on and clicks off. I already bought new relay from Audi dealership for $50 and replaced it. The thing is, I found out my brake vacuum and brake booster relaywere aftermarket. So I’m guessing the previous owner had same problem and sold it to me without telling me… I’m guessing it’s a brake booster, but it’s weird that my brake booster relay is clicking whenever I press on gas not when I press on brake…
