So I just bought an A4 B5 avant. Just picked the car up today, went to get an emissions test. They started the test and the house blew. It pissed all the coolant. Has anyone else have this issue ? And how much did it cost you to fix ? And where can I get the parts ?

 

There are a lot of coolant hoses. Which one blew. I'm in the process of fixing a coolant leak so I'm replacing more of the inexpensive hoses. If one just came loose, you might be able to fasten it back on. What year, BTW?

 

It was the auxiliary hose. It's just infront of the alternator. A smaller hose. I have a 94 A4 avant

 

In my car it's attached to the upper radiator hose and follows a braided vacuum line to the diverter. Can you tell which part the coolant hose goes to? The reality is older hoses crack and become brittle (just like o-rings/gaskets do). It's one of those things with owning older vehicles.

I get most of my parts from FCP Euro or Europa parts. I've had luck finding parts on ECS Tuning and Rock Auto, as well.
