I have a 1998 a4 quattro. there is a coolant leak behind the coils lower right side of block just below intake. this is looking at the engine from the front. Alot of rtv over leak. looks like a pipe or hose. Is there an o ring or something back there. area of block is behind water pump. Thanks for any info. looks like a pita to fix

 

Sounds like a leaking oil cooler (coolant flows through it too). The cooler is the aluminum block that the oil filter screws onto. I'd start there.
