Can anyonetell me what the diamond shaped notification with the line through it from top right to lower left means..Can't find it in owners manual..It stays on all the time and is adjacent to the mpg and mph numbers,,It does not show upwith miles to empty or time driven..Its not a circle with a line its actually a square turned on an angle and looks like a diamond with a line through..I have called Audi and they tell me its used in Europe and means nothing in US and just stays on..Dealer tells me it does have a function and means average, like average mpg or mph..Does anyone know if I need to worry about this symbol that is always on or what it means. My car is an A4 2008 just 3 weeks old and I don't remember seeing this past 2 weeks..It may have always been there. Thank you...

 

It means average. You'll notice that theres are two "MPG" categories. One has the symbol you're talking about and one doesn't. The one with the symbol is your average gas mileagesince the last time you reset it. The one without the symbol is your "current" MPG, which calculates your "on the fly" gas mileage.
