Question Different tread tires

One of my Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 tires was damaged and needs replacement. They have about 12k miles and in good shape, only used in winter (Boulder, CO).

Question1: Is there a problem by installing only one new tire? I'm going to guess the tread difference would be < 2/32 in.

Question2: They don't make the Sport M3 anymore, they have Sport D3s with slightly different tread pattern. Is this a problem?

Any information is appreciated.

I think you'll be fine. The only thing really to be prepared for is that different tread designs will handle snow differenty. Maybe put the new one on the back and keep two matching tires on the front so the steering isn't pulled around by the difference in the two tires' handling of the snow.

Thanks for the info. After some more checking around, it sounds like should be "no problem" although keep hearing to considering changing tires per axel (both front or both rear)

If your spare is a full size wheel you may have on it a Dunlop M3.
I had the nice surprise to find a brand new Dunlop in my trunk...!
