Battery issue, effects fuel guage??
New to audiforums!
2003 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T, sedan...
- Live in VT, cold as $HI$, and had issues with my audi not starting last week.
Once the weather warmed up, turned over and started, and date and time on display were reset, but radio did not reset, working.
My fuel guage shows that I am below empty though, and the light is also on, but I am 99.9 percent sure that I had around a half a tank... sooo...
My question is -
1. Does the battery control the fuel guage, and could it effect this?
2. If not, I am guessing that someone siphoned my fuel (not uncommon here).
Thanks a million for any help!

Chances are the sender is crapping out - it's common for a wire on it to break. Repair that wire and it'll fix it most likely. Check www.audidiy.com for the procedure.

give it a few minutes after driving and the gauge will correct itself... usuually about 20 minutes of driving for me. Mine has done it like four times because it gets too cold at night and my battery is crap so i have to jump start the car....
