Default door wont unlatch after barely getting it shut

this morning my car door (2001 A6 2.7t) wouldnt latch shut after opening it. I got in my car and hit the lock button and proceeded to try and pull it shut a few times and it finally latched and now it wont open back up. I thought it just might be because its cold...-14....any thoughts on what could be wrong? thanks!

I remember everytime it got below 10F or so the passenger door on my old saab 9000 wouldn't shut. I would be making left hand turns with one hand and holding the door shut with the other. I don't miss that.

Heh, I did the road noise mod (tubing in the doors' rain gutters) last year, and this morning when I got up to start the car, as a result of our balmy -13 degree wind chill temps, my tubing was frozen to the door frame and ripped out when I opened the door. Have to re-mod that on Monday when the temps are in the 50s.
