Hey Guys, I have a 1999 a4 2.8 and my key fab dosent work but I could car less about having to put the key in the door to lock and unlock it. But about 6 months ago I started to notice that when I would go to unlock the car form the drivers door it would start to move the button on the inside up but then it would just let go. I can lock the car just fine but I can only unlock the car from the trunk.

Today I took the door pannel of to get a closer look and realized that when the car is already unlocked and I put the key in the door to unlock it I can hear the mechanism moving to unlock the door.

I now have no clue what it could be and any help would be appreciated.
