Default Dual mass experts come in...

Well, I have a question. I have never had a dual mass flywheel before, so this is new to me.

I was tightening the flywheel and noticed that the back part (rear plate) moves independently from the front.

How much play is supposed to be in that thing?

I just want to know. I'm curious about stuff like this.

Seems like most have about 1/2 inch or so. It a pretty good amount of play.

Thanks. I read the write up by Andy at SB. I was just a little curious. I come from a different world where flywheels have one mass and are really lightweight.
