I've seen all the USB cables on eBay for the VAG-COM access, but I have 2 problems: #1 I've got a Mac & #2 its not a laptop haha.
Anyone have any experience with one of these bad boys?:

It looooks pretty cool... says it can clear codes which is what I need (dreaded AIRBAG light on my 00 A4 [:'(] )& the price is right! I'm just worried its too good to be true haha

 

I literally just "bought one now" like 15 mins ago, I boughtjust the USB cable though.I downloaded the Vag Commander program and the cable I bought is new version409.1 compatible. It was $20 bucks shipped, it was the only one under like $25 that was in the united states, the rest are in hong kong, and I had a bad shipping experience with some crotch rocket parts from there already [:@]. I'm pretty pumped to get it though, it should be here early next week, I'll give you an update.

I wonder how many codes that one holds... The smaller ones I was looking at for like $50 only hold like 700 codes, the VAG-COM program has somethin like 7500. Sorry to hearabout your computer to car restriction too. Just buy the 5 foot USB and get an extension (or a few)... that is after you're equipped with Windows, lol.

 

yeah... I know, I was more concerned with the handheld tool itself because its hard to tell what kind of software its running, if its a knock of VAG or something haha
