got a new alt. its in and working so their bench test doesn't load test aparently. thanks for the help, were trading it in for a new jetta wolfsberg tomorow. if anybody is interested in buying my a4 i can send some pics, it has 98k everything works well now. oh and im in duxbury ma

 

doesn't sound like they did a good job then? all they had to do is check for voltage output to the battery from the alternator to confirm if the alternator was bad less than 12v or more than 15v then do a battery voltage drop test to see if the battery was in good shape
